Through generous donor support, LifeWise funds the expenses of its off-campus Bible education program, including facilities, transportation, staff, technology, curriculum, and insurance. LifeWise also invests in staffing, marketing, technology and other resources to support the launch of an increasing number of local programs every year.
All LifeWise expenses —both local and central administrative—are represented in the documents below.
A: LifeWise provides released time religious instruction programs in communities across the country. Its central office, the LifeWise Support Center, handles shared services like financial fund accounting, so local communities don’t need to start and manage their own 501(c)(3) organizations.
A: Despite rapid growth, LifeWise remains a relatively small nonprofit, ranking around 500th in revenue among Ohio nonprofits.
A: By the end of FY25, LifeWise managed nearly 1,000 funds, each representing a local community’s donations and expenses (e.g., part-time staff, supplies). Managing these funds centrally ensures legal compliance, financial transparency and efficiency—similar to models used by ministry nonprofits like Young Life and FCA.
A: In FY24, LifeWise generated $35M in revenue across nearly 600 managed funds. Because these funds represent local donations for hundreds of communities, the total reflects activity nationwide—not the size of the national office. This averages about $58,000 per fund.
A: The total revenue shown on our 990 reflects donations managed across nearly 1,000 local program accounts—not just the national office. Each community raises its own funds for staff, transportation and supplies, and those funds are held and managed by LifeWise until used locally. While the overall total may appear large, the average per account is modest and directly supports local Bible education programs.
