No, while LifeWise is held during the school day, it does not interfere with students’ mandatory courses. The class schedule is set by school personnel in consultation with LifeWise representatives. Classes are held during non-core academic periods, such as during lunch or electives.
LifeWise classes focus on core themes of the Bible, what we refer to as the “main and plain things” of Scripture, with emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each lesson reviews a Bible passage as well as a “Living LifeWise” character trait, such as respect, love or kindness.
LifeWise is complementary to before and after-school programs. The primary distinctive feature of LifeWise is that it operates during the school day, thereby engaging with all students whose parents have given permission for them to attend.
The LifeWise program is held at a nearby church. For the safety and privacy of our students, specific location details are shared only with enrolled families or those seriously considering enrollment. Students are transported by bus from their school to the program site during their designated elective class time. Check-in and check-out procedures are coordinated directly with the school to ensure seamless communication and accountability. Prior to launching the program, we work for several months in close collaboration with the host location, school administrators, and program staff to establish and implement comprehensive safety protocols. In accordance with LifeWise policy, no student is ever left alone with an adult at any time. All LifeWise staff members undergo a rigorous vetting process, which includes HR approval, program coach approval, an interview with the program director, and a complete background check. Ensuring the safety and well-being of every student is our highest priority.
At LifeWise Academy, our mission is to provide students with a strong foundation in Christian principles, centered on the life-changing message of the Gospel. As a non-denominational organization, we are committed to presenting Biblically sound teachings that reflect the core truths shared across Christian denominations.
