No, while LifeWise is held during the school day, it does not interfere with students’ mandatory courses. The class schedule is set by school personnel in consultation with LifeWise representatives. Classes are held during non-core academic periods, such as during lunch or electives.

LifeWise classes focus on core themes of the Bible, what we refer to as the “main and plain things” of Scripture, with emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each lesson reviews a Bible passage as well as a “Living LifeWise” character trait, such as respect, love or kindness.

LifeWise is complementary to before and after-school programs. The primary distinctive feature of LifeWise is that it operates during the school day, thereby engaging with all students whose parents have given permission for them to attend.

One day a week, your child's LifeWise class will take place for 45 minutes during character development (Social Emotional Learning) and 15 mins of recess (out of a 30 min recess). LifeWise volunteers walk with students over to the 4H Building across the street at the fairgrounds.

Once a week, students walk across the parking lot to the LifeWise building, accompanied by LifeWise volunteers. Class is during lunch on Tues or Weds. All meals will again be generously provided, free of charge, from Casey's Pizza, Coffee Steamer burgers/dogs, and Dave's. A huge thank you! to our strong community support & donors! Once a week, your child's LifeWise class will be during Lunch for 30 mins. Students may take their hot school lunch in a carry-out container over to LifeWise, or may bring their own lunch from home. LifeWise volunteers walk students across the street to the Forrest United Methodist church to have class.
